The nature and manner of activity of Sufism in the field of politics has always been one of the challenging issues in the history of Sufism. Regarding the performance of Sufi ways in the field of politics, there is a wide range from isolation to the formation of the government. Considering the growth of Salafi and Jihadi approaches in the Middle East in recent years, Sufi Tariqats and communities were considered as a suitable alternative to confront political Islam, and this has led to the wide popularity of these groups in the public space, as well as these groups finding their way into various fields of politics. Kasnazaniyyah Tariqat is one of the active Sufi tariqats in the contemporary era, which has extensive activities in Iraqi politics and deals with political activism in the domestic and foreign politics of Iraq. This Sufi order has Kurdish and Sunni origins, but it has influence in the Shiite and Arab-descent regions of Iraq and presents itself in opposition to contemporary Islamist groups. In the present study, relying on Frederick Mayer's narrative-based theory of collective action and using library and video resources, we will answer the question of how Kasnazaniyyah deals with politics in Iraq and in what fields and dimensions this politics takes place. The findings of the present research show that Kasnazaniyyah is active in both domestic and foreign politics of Iraq by relying on Sufi principles and concepts and a desire for modern teachings as well as institution building in the field of education and mass media. This Sufi order is trying to spread its Sufi thinking by entering the official institutions of Iraqi politics such as the parliament and the government and regulate political relations in Iraq through mediation between political forces.
