Abstract

Political parties through the implementation of functions such as transfer of the sovereignty of the people, training to run the country''s political forces and institutionalizing the political competition, fulfill their role in political development.
various political, economic, and cultural reasons and some political elites operations are the reasons in failure of the political parties in their effective roles.
Meanwhile the reasons for the failure of political parties in Iran, in this paper, the establishment of the Islamic Republic Party and the closure of its activities have been studied.slamic Republican Party during the almost ten years of activity, was able to achieve many of its objectives, especially early in the Islamic Revolution in establishing the new political system and the establishment of revolutionary institutions, the constitution, political forces and training for the country has played a very important role, but on the other hand surround and front of it, how to recruit, lack of precision and rigor in compliance to the goals of the party manifesto, party Secretary-General of the testimony of the first and most effective - Ayatollah Beheshti, the diversity of thought and aspirations of the elite In particular, the Central Council of the party, and finally the dichotomy in the way of interaction with other causes of the party executive, the party''s failure to meet the continued activity of bitter experience in the life of political parties at once.
