Publication Ethics

Publishing an article in the bi-quarterly Journal of the Political Sociology of the Islamic world in the humanities depends on the specialized and scientific review of the reviewers related to the subject of the article. The journal's code of ethics is set up to determine the duties and obligations of authors, editors, and reviewers. All people who somehow share articles are expected to adhere to the following ethics. Observing any plagiarism or other unethical behaviors will eliminate the article from the review process. This bi-quarterly journal is a member of the Publishing Committee (Cope) and uses its principles and criteria.

Editor's and editorial members' duties

  • Acceptance of Articles: The editor of the journal is responsible for deciding or rejecting the submitted articles. The editor admits the article with the help of the editorial board and considers the issues of the right to copyright, plagiarism, and the discretion of the reviewers and editors.

 

  • Justice: Editors should only review articles on their scientificness and should act without personal support or ventilation or not consider things such as nationality, gender, ethnicity, and racial issues.

 

  • Observing the principle of confidentiality: The editor and editorial board should not disclose information about the article to someone other than reviewers, writers, and editors.

 

  • Failure to disclose the articles' content and their personal use: That part of the contents of the submitted articles that have not been published should not be used in the personal research of the editor or the editorial board, without obtaining written consent. Confidential information or ideas obtained through the assessment of articles must be kept confidential and not used for personal interests.

 

Reviewers' duties

  • Acceptance of Articles: Reviewers and editorial members help decide to accept or reject the article and share the quality of their paper by submitting amendments to authors.
  • Having the right not to accept reviewing the article: It is necessary and required to accept the evaluation of an article according to the specified time. The reviewer, who is aware of his lack of competence to review the research article, must refuse to evaluate the article.
  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must respect the confidentiality of the article's evaluation process and should not provide information about the article without written permission from the author to a person other than the editor.

 

  • Lack of bias: Reviewers should evaluate articles impartially and fair. They should avoid personal grips in their decisions.

 

  • Sources: Reviewers are required to identify the resources that the author has referred to. Any conclusion or discussion in the article must be mentioned with its source. The reviewers are also required to notify the editor if they see any similarity or overlap between the submitted and other articles.

 

  • Conflicts of interest: Reviewers should not use the information or ideas that have come up with the evaluation process for their interests. Reviewers should also refrain from evaluating articles that are subject to conflict of interest, including joint financial, organizational, personal, or any other connection with companies, institutions, or individuals related to articles.

 

Author's duties

  • Provide the report from the research findings: The author is the final responsible for the content of the entire article. The authors are committed to reporting the findings of their research and being careful in their findings and interpretation. The article should contain sufficient details and resources; It is possible that other researchers can access the same data set to repeat the research.
  • Plagiarism: The author must ensure that all content is the result of his research and specifies the authenticity of each of the applied data sets.
  • Originality: The article should be the result of new and authentic research. The author cannot submit an article that the whole or part of it is being reviewed in another journal or previously submitted to another journal or conference.
  • Thanks and appreciation: The authors should point out and appreciate the individuals or organizations who have been effective in forming their research.
  • Writing: All authors whose names are mentioned in the article must work seriously in conducting research and be responsive to the results. The validity and privilege of writing or compilation must be determined by the proportion of assistance in the conduct and writing of different sections. The authors must accept responsibility for the research. The author who submits the article to the journal must submit a copy or draft of the article to all the authors of the paper and obtain their satisfaction to submit the journal to the article and publish it.
  • Conflict of interest: The authors are obliged to raise any contradictions that have influenced the outcome of their research or the interpretation of the findings, and to mention their support for their research.
  • Precision: If the author finds out an important misconception in his work, he or she is obliged to notify the journal editor quickly and collaborate on the process of reviewing and revising the article.
